A new arena will join the existing Rocket Labs lineup, Psyonix announced this week, and those tired of gimmick-heavy arenas might enjoy the latest addition to Rocket League . And we can’t wait to see what kind of long distance shots top players can pull off on Rocket League ’s newest map.
New details on Rocket League ’s September update were released on Thursday , including images of the next three maps coming to Psyonix’s automotive soccer game: a sprawling octagon will be the latest addition to the Rocket Labs playlist. The new arena is much larger than the vast majority of maps available in Rocket League , except for the wildly unpopular Wasteland, giving your team more room to work. Unfortunately, the expanded map size also means there’s substantially more ground to cover when your squad is on defense.
The new octagon arena won’t be the only new addition. Psyonix says a total of three new maps will debut next month, including new variants of two existing maps. Octagon will only be available on the Rocket Labs playlist; however, the Urban Central and DFH Stadium refreshes will both be available in exhibition, private and ranked matches. Images of the new maps can also be seen on the Rocket League website .
Psyonix promises additional information on the September update in the next few weeks. Most of the other changes will probably be performance tweaks and bug fixes. But it’s safe to assume we’ll see some new cosmetic items, too.
