Rogue Company announced that its closed beta has officially started. The game can be best described as a third-person shooter which offers the style of the runway and combines it with the explosiveness of the battlefield. Early access is available by buying one of the Founder’s Packs.
There’s the Starter Founder’s Pack, which is available for the PC at the Epic Store for $5.99. In addition to the early access, it also comes with two extra playable Rogues plus four cosmetic items. The Standard Founder’s Pack, meanwhile, is offered at $11.99 and has eight extra playable Rogues and four in-game cosmetic items. The highest tier is the Ultimate Founder’s Pack which is currently priced at $21.59. While it also unlocks eight playable Rogues, it now offers a cache that’s full of cosmetic items. There’s also 100 Rogue Bucks that can be used in the in-game store. Note that prices may vary depending on the platform.
So, what is Rogue Company? In the game, players choose one of the Rogues. These are elite mercenaries that fight for riches, glory, or more personal reasons. The battlefield has 4v4 objective-based matches where players need to rely on their team and be able to adapt, as well as overcome, each combat puzzle.
Each Rogue in the game comes with a unique range of weapons that can be upgraded, and even modified, between each round.
There are the primary weapons, which are typically the big guns. Players can choose a mid-range assault rifle or those who want something personal can go for the pump shotgun. Regardless of what weapon they eventually choose it’s going to define their playstyle. There are also Secondary weapons which are typically smaller caliber weapons. These can be swapped at any time to finish the task at hand.
There are also a wide range of high-tech Gadgets that players can choose from. All Rogues carry both defensive and offensive gadgets. This should allow for some rather interesting strategies.
There are also Perks that players can customize, much like how they can tailor their outfits. Perks are there to help fill in the gaps that come with weapons especially as they offer special passive bonuses. That said, players should also make use of Abilities as each Rogue brings a different one to the table. An example of such abilities include barbed wire traps, explosive daggers, and even shield walls.
Rogue Company is available for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
