Jedi Temple Archives has gotten their hands on a number of product pics from the upcoming “Rogue Friday” (Sept. 30) release of Hasbro Star Wars action figure tie-ins with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The new action figures reveal the names of two new Rogue One characters fighting for the Rebellion against the Empire.
First up is Moroff.

He comes packaged with a Scarif Stormtrooper, which helpfully provides some scale. This guy is Wookie big.
So we have a name for this big guy! Hello Moroff! (Saw this pic at https://t.co/QtKpBPHpZc) pic.twitter.com/pR8EkZ9lnG

It’s unclear how much of a role Moroff and Pao will play in Rogue One, but both were featured briefly in the Rogue One “Celebration Reel” screened at Star Wars Celebration Europe. You can watch it above.
It seems likely that Pao and Moroff aren’t part of the main task force lead by Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones). But that doesn’t mean they won’t have a role to play in the Rebellion’s eventual capture of the original Death Star plans. In addition to the small-squad Dirty Dozen narrative of Rogue One , the trailers showcase several large-scale battles. It seems likely we’ll catch Moroff and Pao proving their mettle in those sequences.
Like the much-hyped Kanjiklub before them, it always feels a little weird getting excited for characters before we’ve even seen the movie. Some of the Force Awakens action figures, like Constable Zuvio, didn’t even make it to the screen. We’ll know how many fannish squeals Pao and Moroff will merit when Rogue One: A Star Wars Story comes to theaters Dec. 15.
