The official release of Rune Factory 5 is still months away. This early, it’s been revealed that a limited “Earthmate Edition” is being offered at launch. Not only that, pre-orders are to be available soon through the XSEED Games Store along with different participating retailers.
The Earthmate Edition will be offered at a retail price of $79.99 and includes:
- Custom outer box which features artwork from series illustrator Minako Iwasaki.
- Rune Factory 5 Nintendo Switch game card with an exclusive SteelBook case.
- Large 5.8” by 8.2” softcover artbook.
- Has more than 70 pages of character illustrations, concept art, and more.
- “Melodies of Norad” soundtrack CD.
- Features 15 songs specially selected from across the entire Rune Factory series.
- 13 exclusive in-game costumes based on the marriage candidates (+ Dolce’s ghostly companion Pico) from Rune Factory 4.
Go on an Adventure
Rune Factory 5 is the latest addition to this RPG franchise and has players go on a grand adventure in a fantasy world. In particular, players take on the role of a hero, who after losing their memory, manages to land in a town blessed by nature. They start their new life by helping different villagers.
As the hero goes about daily duties, they are suddenly recruited to SEED, an organization composed of peacekeeping rangers. As a result, players now need to investigate rune-related mysteries along with rounding up monsters. Other activities that can be done include:
- Growing crops on the back of a dragon
- Going to fishing expeditions
- Prospecting for ore in the mountains
- Joining local festivals
There are a lot of ways for players to enjoy themselves after a long day of adventure. It’s important to know that even doing leisure activities has the same excitement as going after monsters.
Build Relationships
While in town, players can strengthen their relationships with the townsfolk to get new link attacks which is sure to add that needed depth to combat. Those who don’t want to go on too many adventures can get closer with one of the twelve eligible marriage candidates. Get to know more about them, propose as their true love, and start their very own family. By the way, players can choose any of the twelve regardless of gender, a first in the series.
Rune Factory 5 is coming on March 22, 2022, on the Nintendo Switch. It will be offered both digitally and physically for the price of $59.99. There is also the Digital Deluxe version priced at $69.99, which comes with the same 13 in-game costumes included in the limited edition.
