Card Pack Changes
With Year of the Phoenix, Hearthstone is making changes on the mechanics for opening card packs. This is to make sure that players have a chance to get a Legendary card every time, as long as it's one they don't already have. Then by March 26 it's going to be extended to all raities.
When the change goes live, players no longer get more than two copies of any Common, Rare, or Epic until such time that they have two copies of all cards of that rarity in a set. This also counts for crafting, along with cards that can be acquired and then disenchanted. What does this mean? Well, if players get a card they don't want, they can disenchant it and won't be able to receive that card until they get all cards of that rarity from that same set. This won't affect how rarities in card packs are distributed.
Free Deck
Beginning March 26, new players to Hearthstone get the class of their choice. This is also true for players that haven't been playing the game for at least four months.
Hall of Fame
This being a new year, five neutral cards are going to join the Hall of Fame. Once players log-in after March 26, players that have these cards are automatically awarded with dust:
- Acolyte of Pain
- Spellbreaker
- Mind Control Tech
- Mountain Giant
- Leeroy Jenkins
