It's been well over a year since Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has been breaking controllers and enraging soulsborne veterans, but the game never received an add-on update since its release. However, it now seems that FromSoftware has shown some interest in adding new features to Sekiro, including the highly demanded Boss Rush mode.
Here's what Activision had to say about the update: "With this update, you will be able to take part in Reflections of Strength; re-matches against any previously defeated boss that can be accessed through any Sculptor’s Idol. These Reflections may help in preparing for Gauntlets of Strength, single-life challenges that will truly test only the bravest warriors… or the most foolish. As by definition of a Gauntlet, if the Wolf dies at any point, he must start over from the beginning. You like a challenge, right?"
In addition to that, the next update will also grant you the ability to record up to 30 seconds of your gameplay footage and share it with friends. FromSoftware said that these videos will be called "Remnants" that can be used as tools to share combat strategies and hints. If someone watches your Remnants, they can rate your Remnants, which will help in recovering your HP without the use of the Sculptor's Idol or consumables. It'll be interesting to see how this feature works out in practice.
There is no doubt that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a remarkable game, but it did lack something, which was soon pointed out by fans - Outfits! Well, FromSoftware is now adding three new outfits to the game that can be unlocked by playing the game and completing the required challenges. Two of these outfits can be unlocked by playing the Gauntlets and the third one is awarded for completing the game.
The Reddit community for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has always been asking for a Boss Rush mode and a bunch of new outfits and it's pleasant to see that FromSoftware has responded to the requests. It's also great to see that none of these said features and items are hidden behind a paywall, everything mentioned here will be added to the game completely for free.
Unfortunately, these updates aren't going to be here next week, or even next month. The big patch will be available for download on October 29.
