If you're a fan of the Serious Sam series, then this should pump up your adrenaline. Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem is releasing on PC through Steam, January 25. This is a standalone expansion to Serious Sam 4 and has players battle against the Notorious Mental as they journey across Russia.
In a post, Croteam revealed that the game can be enjoyed even if they haven't played SS4. It seems in this game the action is upped to 11 while offering a hybrid experience. Croteam shared that the game is also important because it was designed and developed by some of those in the modding community.
The game is set in, obviously, Siberia. Considered as the heart of Russia, this region is huge, cold, and unpredictable to the point that even alien invaders can feel lost. Five new levels, including abandoned villages and desolate forests, are featured.
Considering just how harsh the environment is, there's no doubt that only the strong will survive. The Notorious Mental knows this and has some new enemies and bosses join the Horde. Be ready to see some of the most intimidating and advanced creatures. In this game, there are new weapons for everyone to try out. These include the legendary AK and all the way to the experimental "Perun" crossbow.
Besides fighting enemies, players also get to know outcasts along with unexpected characters in their journey. There are side missions that can be completed to uncover new chronicles.
