Street Fighter V: Champion Edition revealed that it is set to introduce the 40th character to be part of its roster. Seth, the "King of Chaos", is going to be available on February 14. For those familiar with the franchise, Seth is the boss character from Street Fighter IV. However, for this version Seth takes on a new form and returns as a master move mimicker.
The Street Fighter series has always been known for its memorable bosses and Seth back in Street Fighter IV was no different. While many may have thought that Seth died, the truth was that part of the intelligence survived and in the Champion Edition, remnants of his biological brain have been paired with a new physical form. Since Seth continues to hunt for new data on the world's fiercest fighters in the world, he comes with the ability to steal moves and then use them against an opponent. For any players going against Seth, this means they should come up with a good strategy and be prepared to get a taste of their own medicine.
Even before Seth arrives, last week marked the angelic return of Gill as he is already confirmed to be part of the roster. Known to be the leader of the Secret Society, Gill served as the end boss of the Street Fighter III series. He brings his elemental balance to the Champion Edition as he is armed with a wide variety of fire and ice attack options. Players can get Gill for $5.99 or 100,000 Fight Money. His home base, the “Sun Chase Moon” stage, can also be purchased for $3.99 or 70,000 Fight Money.
In addition to Gill, the Champion Edition also released an update last week that added new V-Skills to each character in the game. The new abilities offer added depth to the gameplay system and brings with it a wide range of new strategies. There was also a new battle balance update made available that included general game improvements and character-specific updates. The new gameplay additions are available as a free download for all players.
Street Fighter V: Champion Edition is available both physically and digitally on the PlayStation 4 for $29.99. A digital version is going to be available for download on Steam on February 14. Those who own Street Fighter V can buy the Upgrade Kit for $24.99. The Kit allows instance access to all unowned Champion Edition content as it becomes available leading up to the February 14 release.
