We still don’t have a timeline for the console debut of Shadow Warrior 2, the fantastic 2016 loot shooter from Flying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital, but the studio behind Lo Wang’s latest outing says the foul-mouthed protagonist is still expected to return to consoles this spring. And all of the existing Shadow Warrior 2 DLC is coming along for the ride.
We were big fans of Shadow Warrior 2 when the game hit PC last year. It certainly had some shortcomings, like repetitive enemies and a surprisingly small armory, but we’ve been looking for an excuse to revisit the shooter since giving it a four-star review back in October. Thankfully, it sounds like we’ll have a reason to do just that, provided Shadow Warrior 2 doesn’t run into any unexpected road bumps during the certification process. And the gamers who’ve been patiently waiting for their chance to shoot and stab their way through demonic hordes will have even more Shadow Warrior 2 content to explore when the game finally hits PS4 and Xbox One.
Presumably, Flying Wild Hog is still aiming for the April/May window the studio mentioned back in January ; however, there aren’t currently any follow-up tweets or clarifying statements from the Shadow Warrior 2 dev team. The studio has already published two expansions for the shooter, the trial-based Way of the Wang DLC and the Bounty Hunt content that adds 14 more missions to Lo Wang’s To Do list. Additional Shadow Warrior 2 content is also expected later in 2017, but only time will tell whether or not that DLC emerges before the game’s PS4 and Xbox One ports.
Shadow Warrior 2 is currently available on PC. The game is expected to hit PS4 and Xbox One sometime this spring.
