Electronic Arts is celebrating "The Sims 4's" 25th anniversary by introducing a major update that adds a ton of different content for players to enjoy.

The new stuff that the studio is releasing include free updates, limited-time events, premium DLC, and many others. The celebrations are scheduled to officially begin on Feb. 4, 2025, which is when "The Sims 4" will get an update that introduces more than 70 new items.

These will span across both Create a Sim and Build Buy modes within the game. There have been talks about the addition of turtlenecks and bodysuits, bike shorts, accessories, and many other items.

Additionally, the developer is planning to add new furnishings, which include "stylish" windows and doors, wood finishes for kitchen cabinets, and a new playground pirate ship.

The Feb. 4, 2025, update also includes the launch of "The Sims 4's" new limited-time Blast from the Past event, according to Eurogamer.

The event will present players with a month's worth of challenges to unlock "iconic items from the 2000s." These include a milk carton, telephone, alarm clock, birthday cake, and inflatable chairs.

Furthermore, Electronic Arts is giving "The Sims FreePlay" a similarly-themed event on mobile that wraps up the franchise's Feb. 4, 2025, celebrations.

The studio is also hosting a 25-hour livestream starting from 10:00 p.m. GMT that will feature various Simmers and special guests.

A Ton of New Content

The celebrations come as the original "The Sims" game was released on Feb. 4, 2000, which makes this year a major milestone for the franchise.

There was also confirmation of the Cozy Gamer kit and other additions that will benefit free-to-play gamers, Comic Book said.

There were also talks about the game's next season, which claims that it could be based on the popular Motherlode cheat. Other than that, there has been no information about what else Electronic Arts has in store for "The Sims 4."

However, given the money focus, a lot of fans of the franchise think that new careers are likely to be added to the game. The upcoming anniversary showcase will stream on a variety of different media, including YouTube and Twitch.

The celebrations also come as "The Sims 4", which just has a new main menu screen, which is seen as a major change from the past.

Electronic Arts has removed the tiled announcements format and replaced them with players' last-played family, which is showcased in the center of the screen, according to PCGamer.
