The Life & Death Expansion Packintroduces an area called Ravenwood. According to Electronic Arts (EA), Ravenwood is "where the veil between life and death is especially thin."

Ravenwood is where you can find three new neighborhoods. The first of which is Crow's Crossing, a village rumored to be hunted by ghosts. The second is called Whispering Glen. This neighborhood is perfect for those who enjoy being collectors and historians.

Lastly, there's also Mourningvale, a place that many ghosts like to call home. Why? You'll have to buy the expansion pack to figure it out.

In addition to new neighborhoods, Life & Death also brings new careers. The first of which is the Reaper profession, and the Sim's goal here is to ascend the ranks and become a reaper. Sims who go for this line of work can actually work with Grim.

The other new career is the Undertaker Career, and Sims who go down this road will have to serve both the living and the dead. Tasks in this career include grave digging and embalming.

Dealing with Death

The upcoming expansion pack also expands on how Sims deal with death and the departure of their loved ones. For instance, Sims can now draw up a will in order to assign heirlooms to specific family members. The will can also specify how the remains of a Sim should be handled, including any funeral requests.

Sims will also get to experience four types of grief, which are Denial, Holding It Together, Anger, and Blues. These can be triggered not just by death, but also by other difficult situations such as divorce and getting fired.

Funeral events can also be planned thanks to the Life & Death Expansion Pack. Players can select who attends a specific funeral and even what the dress code is. There are also a variety of activities to choose from, such as serving food and delivering a eulogy.
