The Sims Community debuted an official Sims 4 Request Hub this week via Tumblr. This means Simmers can request mods, custom content, and Sims 3 or even Sims 2 conversions.
The request hub was built on behalf of both players seeking custom content (CC) and CC creators looking for inspiration or practice. “We are hoping to bring together the community and cc creators together in a fun way by giving those with great ideas a chance to see them made,” the four blog administrators write. The TS4RH (The Sims 4 Request Hub) blog founders want to give Simmers a platform to interact about how to make the game better. “It's just a start now, but as we grow, it would be amazing to see larger scale community projects, collaboration, and some good old excitement about the possibilities,” Supreme Member @AlotLikeWords said in a community thread.
To make a request, visit the TS4RH on Tumblr and look for a box on the vertical menu that says *Requests. Be as specific as humanly possible and include an image with your submission. The creators give an example of an effective proposal, “ Instead of asking for "male hair," you can send in an image and perhaps if you would like it to be Maxis Match, alpha, clay, or are open to any option. There is plenty of relevant information to share about projects like links and permissions for conversions, images, and so on, depending on the nature of the request.”
Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that your CC wish will come true. “Some requests may not be possible due to permissions, or the scale of the project being too large. No CC creator can give you Open World or Create a Style,” the blog asserts. The blog adds that these requests are not limited to a certain group of creators and can be completed by anyone within the community.
So far, there are a few requests that would be cool to have in TS4. The first is a restaurant style kitchen stove similiar to a version from One Billion Pixels that would look really nice in a fancy kitchen beside island countertops.
The second is a hair mesh which would diversify the selection of the womens and girls style options.
There have been requests for rustic iron gates and doors, a creepy 3-story fireplace, and another calling for TS3 to TS4 roof decoration conversions (much needed).
After just 5 days up and running, there are 4 completed requests. One is a halter top that reads, “100% Witch.” Check it out and grab the file here:
Requests are sorted by type to make it easier for creators to look through submissions: Mesh, Conversions, Re-color and Modding. As more ideas are posted the blog's admin will add more specific topics separated by category, for example, ‘Create a Sim’ and ‘Build and Buy.’
Requests for custom tapestries, a maxi dress, and a new skirt style have all been fulfilled. Check out the designs on the TS4RH blog page.
