Say so long to the epic Sims drought, and I’m not just talking about a Sims update (although SimGuruDrake confirmed that’s coming next week). Expect a new Sims 4 Stuff Pack in June, and a Game Pack coming very soon, if statements made by the official Sims Latin America social media accounts are accurate. According to the correspondence below , Stuff Packs have been delayed in favor of a Game Pack release featuring restaurants. The unnamed (and unconfirmed) Sims rep also said a Sims DLC involving toddlers or pets isn't of one of the upcoming releases.
“What happened is some stuff packs were delayed because a new Game Pack is coming. Right now we cannot say much, but I am fine tuning my Cooking Skills"” the translated message reads.
The next leak courtesy of Twitter user @TurkkiToni (pictured below) explains that we’ll get a Game Pack that is unique to The Sims 4 : “I can assure you that the new Game Packs are nothing like you've seen in the other Sims games. Stay tuned.”
The messages also appear to confirm a new Stuff Pack will release in June.
“Yes, a new Stuff Pack will come in June, but I can’t say much," the Sims rep said.
It’s unclear if the Stuff Pack will happen before or after a Game Pack release. However, the language in the first message suggests EA forwent a Stuff Pack release in favor of a Game Pack.
The Sims account was also asked if TS4 will get new content involving toddlers anytime soon, but unfortunately the future looks bleak.
“For now, there are no plans for expansion or stuff packs that include pets or infants,” the Sims rep responded.
When Twitter user KaitoLen1 asked specifically about restaurants, the Sims rep typed “Shhhhh!” A restaurant-themed Game Pack would align with February rumors sparked by SimGuruNinja who used words like “hungry,” “fresh,” and “serve up” in a cryptic tweet.
SimGuruTrev also recently tweeted a cryptic message and the best guess as to what it means also hints at a restaurant-related DLC release.
In the forums, Dannydanbo guessed, “Hosts and waitstaff and chefs oh my! Time to be a restaurateur.”
SimGuruLindsay neither confirmed nor denied any of the new rumors when she sent the following Tweet responding to the leaks:
Adding fuel to the fishy fire, SimsVIP captured a photo of a message (now deleted) between the Sims Latin America account asking a Twitter user,“Can you tell me where you saw this? Oh this is bad. This can cost me my job.”
At this point, the identity of the person behind the Sims Latin America account is unknown so we have to take these leaks with a grain of salt. The fact that SimGuruDrake didn’t deny any of the claims leaves us with a glimpse of hope The Sims team will officially announce a Game Pack in the next few weeks.
