Developer MercurySteam has unveiled Sooma, the latest playable character for Spacelords. A member of the Umbra Wardogs, Sooma will be available beginning the second quarter of 2019.

Born in the Cydonia region of Mars, Sooma is member of a seclusive cult dedicated to helping people who are suffering from oppression and pain.

This newest character is based on model and actress Stefanie Joosten. Born in the Netherlands, Stefanie was exposed to Japanese culture through an exchange program. After earning her degree, she transferred to Tokyo for good. She initially took modeling gigs and small acting roles, but gained popularity after she was chosen to serve as both the voice model and visual model for Quiet in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Talking about her new character, Stefanie said she found Sooma interesting considering that while she can absorb any of the damage taken by her allies, she does so at a cost. She added that she is excited in “seeing my character coming to life, and can’t wait for Sooma to be released!”

Spacelords tells the story of the discovery of an energy source known as Aleph. Instead of helping each other, the human forces instead divide into different groups and fight between themselves. This results in the inhabitants of the planets getting caught in the crossfire. A man named Harec rises from the ranks to help his people. With a ragtag group composed of hired guns, outlaws, and rouges, Harec goes after those who would destroy the place he calls home.

MercurySteam has also released a new weapon for H.I.V.E. dubbed as “The Plague.” The weapon is loaded with insects known as A’gi, small to the human eye but when gathered in the thousands, take the shape of a cloud. The Plague allows H.I.V.E. to shoot it even when hiding behind cover, making it a must-try. Even if there is no direct path to the target, the A’gi can find their way through everynook and cranny.
