Specially-abled Twitch streamer, HandicableOne has defeated the challenging Ghost of the Babe DLC for the platformer Jump King. The streamer only used his chin and a controller to traverse through the levels and beat the game.
HandicableOne took 66 hours and 21 minutes to beat the DLC. The entire run consisted of 95,766 jumps and 5,851 falls. The streamer has muscular dystrophy, which renders him incapable of using his limbs. Previously, we have seen people beating Dark Souls with toasters, but in HandicableOne's case, it is different. HandicableOne used his chin to beat the game out of necessity and we couldn't be more impressed.
Muscular dystrophy is an incurable disorder that causes the breakdown of muscular mass exponentially over time. Due to severe muscle weakness, HandicableOne cannot use a standard controller, but he has bagged one of the biggest records in gaming. For the sake of reference, abled popular streamers like Forsen beat the DLC in 28 hours and 6 minutes and xQc took 48 hours and 52 minutes to do it, which consisted of 80,237 jumps and 4,815 falls.
This feat from HandicableOne is a testament of perseverance and tells the gaming industry that it has a long way to go when it comes to accessibility for specially-abled gamers. Upon beating the Ghost of the Babe DLC, HandicableOne said, "Yes, we did it. Finally, I can breathe. Wow. That was the hardest game I've ever played in my life."
Now, HandicableOne has set his eye on another insanely challenging game, Dark Souls. Of course, Jump King is hard to play and finish, but it only has three input controls to worry about. It will be interesting to see how HandicableOne will manage through the more sophisticated controls of Dark Souls and how he will tackle fast-paced action and notoriously challenging boss fights.
