The hype is real for Miles Morales, especially after the big reveal at E3 that he’ll be in the new Marvel’s Spider-Man game on PS4. In addition, Shameik Moore of The Get Down is set to voice Morales in the new Spider-Man animated movie. However, there could be more in store for this second version of Spidey than we thought. Spoilers for Spider-Man: Homecoming and the future of the MCU are ahead. Proceed with caution.
Earlier this week, we speculated Donald Glover’s role as The Prowler is a huge hint for the fact Miles Morales exists in Marvel Cinematic Universe. Glover’s character, otherwise known as Miles Morales’s uncle, is basically the man responsible for his nephew getting bit by the radioactive spider in the first place.
Now, during an interview with ComicBook.com, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has seemingly confirmed Miles Morales is indeed in the MCU and there’s plans for his appearance down the line.
"He does have a nephew," Feige said, referring to Glover’s character. "He has a nephew."
"I mean, I always wanted Donald [Glover] to be in this movie," Watts said. "That was one of my first ideas, just because I knew... I remember all the excitement surrounding him being Spider-Man, you know? And I was like, 'If he's going to be in this movie, who could he be?' So, we're not saying anything specifically, but Aaron Davis having a nephew in New York City... I wouldn't say it's a definite hint, but I think it definitely opens that door."
