Recently, Insomniac confirmed that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also include a remaster of Spider-Man, but it will only be available via digital download, raising more controversy among fans.

A Twitter user asked Insomniac Games whether players will be able to pick up where they left off when jumping to the PS5 and Spider-Man Remastered. The developer replied that "saves won’t transfer from the original game to the Remaster." Seeing Insomniac Games' reply, fans began criticizing the developer by labeling the practice as lazy, and some even calling it a marketing strategy. The second criticism seems quite apt as Spider-Man Remastered is coming bundled with the Ultimate Edition of Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Players expressed their disappointment by stating that there's no way that they'll be playing Spider-Man Remastered from scratch if all of their earned costumes are not getting carried over. Fans that are new to the Spider-Man saga will have a fresh start anyway, but those who have invested 50+ or even 100+ hours in the game may understandably not want to start all over again. This is why the exclusion of cross-platform saves seems like a serious oversight on the part of Insomniac Games.
While Spider-Man Remastered is getting a lot of criticism lately, even before its release, there is also some positive news, especially in terms of the game's content. According to Insomniac Games, Spider-Man Remastered will not just feature polished graphics, but fans can also expect new trophies and suits, giving a good reason for players to start the adventure all over again.
