Developer GSC Game World outlined its plans to address the variety of bugs and issues that are plaguing STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
The situation comes after the highly anticipated game sold more than one million units following its extremely delayed launch. The Ukrainian team has now outlined its main priorities of updates that will come post-launch.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl Issues
The first thing is addressing crashes, including issues and memory and allocation failures. These previously caused STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl to suddenly exit by itself. They are usually related to rendering, skeletal meshes, and quest-related cutscenes.
The developer also plans to fix the main quest progression where several bugs blocked players from moving forward. These problems include NPCs getting stuck in objects, inaccurate quest markers, and problems with some quest cutscenes.
GSC Game World will also revise various main quests to make sure that there are smooth transitions and avoid cases of people being blocked from moving forward. The studio also plans some gameplay and balance adjustments, according to WCCFTech.
The latter includes fixing the price of the weapons that have upgrades installed on them as compared to their stats without them. The studio also fixed NPC behavior, such as the way they act when they lack shelter during the Emissions.
Also included in the outline are cutscenes and visual fixes where some players experienced missing facial animations, misplaced NPCs, and visual inconsistencies. The latter include detached heads and clothes clipping on other objects.
Plans Moving Forward
GSC Game World's patch also improves the UI in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Many players are hoping that the first update can address the variety of issues that they have been experiencing since launch, The Gamer said.
The bugs and issues in the game have not significantly hampered the success that STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has enjoyed since its release. It opened up to critical and commercial success despite having average reviews.
A lot of people who have been spending a lot of time in The Zone have experienced the brutality that STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobly offers. The game features intense battles, anomalies that are hidden, and various technical issues.
The last release in the franchise was more than a decade ago and the latest entry in the series was originally canceled but then revived.
It puts players in a disaster-struck region where they will have to learn quickly if they want to survive for even a short while, according to PCGamesN.
