Stan Lee gave fans a huge surprise today ahead of San Diego Comic-Con. Stan ‘The Man’ has a new comic book series called Nitron. The first of six issues will release in January. The series was created with digital platforms in mind -- feature films and TV in particular.

Stan Lee is the brain behind the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, the Hulk, Thor, the X-Men, the Avengers and many many more. Nitron is about a highly advanced species known as Nitronians who secretly live among humans on Earth.

“Without giving too much away, I can say that Stan has created an intricate story and mythology with characters that are unconventional yet relatable. Overall, I think Stan’s Nitron concept is fun and is new and this makes it a very exciting venture for Benaroya Pictures,” CEO Michael Benaroya told press.

This story is developing. Stay tuned for updates out of San Diego Comic-Con where Stan Lee is scheduled to make an appearance.
