Good news for all Captains in Star Trek Online. The Discovery: Emerald Chain Lock Box is now available, and it brings a lot of goodies. The grand prize is none other than the Tier 6 starship, Emerald Chain Intel Juggernaut.
The best way to describe this ship is clearly built to intimidate. Not only because of its size but also its various weapon mounts. This ship is mainly designed to subdue and conquer, but there are times that it's useful for subterfuge. Read more about this Tier 6 here.
Space Weapons
It's not all starships since the Emerald Chain Lock Box also offers Space weapons inside the Viridian Weapon Pack. Viridian technology uses plasma and turns it into larger blasts resulting in a powerful effect. This same technology also allows players to accelerate their weapon cycle speed, thus improving damage output.
The weapons utilizing this technology are available as beams and cannons. There's also the chance to get weapon packs that contain the Emerald Chain Intel Juggernaut Vanity Shield. This one provides the aesthetics of the Emerald Chain Intel Juggernaut to a ship that equips it in its vanity shield slot.
Captain’s Traits
The Emerald Chain Lock Box also offers six new Captain’s Traits that are universal and available to all species. These are:
- Ground: Courier’s Reflexes
- When combat starts, receive a large bonus to Critical Chance for a moderate duration.
- Ground: Gone Before Security Arrives
- Receive a bonus to Run Speed and Recharge to Kit Modules and Captain Abilities for a moderate duration.
- Ground: Rogue’s Gallery
- Damaging and Marks enemies for a moderate duration (or refreshes an existing Mark).
- Marked enemies receive a Damage Resistance Rating penalty for each new Damage Type they receive during Mark’s duration.
- Space: Courier Weapons Capacitors
- When combat starts, receive a large bonus to Critical Chance for a moderate duration.
- Space: A Timely Exit
- At the end of combat, receive a bonus to flight speed, maneuverability, and Captain Ability recharge for a moderate duration.
- Space: Friends in Unusual Places
- Abilities that summon Allies (Consoles, BOFF Abilities, Hanger Pets, Captain Abilities, and Distress Beacons) recover their recharge faster.
