Star Trek Online is ready to welcome the first female captains of Star Trek on consoles. Shadow’s Advance is now live on the PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game. This new content follows the festivities of the game’s 12th anniversary, which started last month for the PC.
The new update has captains join the Terran forces led by Marshall Janeway. Janeway was portrayed by Kate Mulgrew and introduced in Star Trek: Voyager. Players are asked to help her kidnap a person of great importance from the Jupiter Station located in Federation space.
In addition to Marshall Janeway, players also get to team up with two officers from the Mirror Universe. These are Captain Killy (Mary Wiseman) from Star Trek: Discovery and Admiral Leeta (Chase Masterson) from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Shadow’s Advance, in particular, follows the perspective of Admiral Janeway from the Prime Universe.
Here’s the list of features that went live with the console update:
- New Featured Episode
- In the new episode “Redshift,” players team up with Marshal Janeway and her Terran forces to capture an important individual from a secure facility.
- New Task Force Operation
- Players are introduced to a brand new five-captain space TFO called “Iuppiter Iratus.”
- Captains need to assemble a team of five and stop the Terran Empire from stealing data from Jupiter Station.
- Anniversary Event
- Back by popular demand, the devs have released the Omega Molecule Stabilization mission.
- This one has players trying to stabilize Omega molecules which Q has scattered throughout the galaxy.
- Participating in this event along with numerous episodes and TFOs associated with Mirror Universe, unlock this year’s anniversary ship, the T6 Jarok Alliance Carrier.
