A new update for Stardew Valley is out this week, bringing a handful of changes for the popular country life RPG, and anyone hoping to see the game’s marriage system expanded should enjoy the latest round of additions to Stardew Valley.
Patch notes for this week’s Stardew Valley update confirm Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, the game’s lone developer, is finally implementing the marriage improvements he’s been teasing since shortly after the game’s launch. Stardew Valley 1.06 includes new dialogue options for all 10 potential spouses, unique to each character, along with a new Monday routine for your husband or wife. Unfortunately, for those enthralled by Stardew Valley’s dating mechanic, there aren’t any new romantic interests in this week’s patch. You'll just have to keep relying on Stardew Valley mods for now.
Marriage isn’t the only aspect of Stardew Valley being tweaked this week. Anyone with a farm full of animals can look forward to increased profits from their animal products, like eggs and milk, thanks to a slight adjustment from ConcernedApe. This week’s patch also introduces fixes for a handful of minor bugs, including one that left players unable to participate in some in-game events.
Elsewhere, Kotaku published a lengthy new interview with the creator of Stardew Valley. The talk offers an inside look at the inspirations behind some of the game’s most popular characters and mechanics, along with some idea of what ongoing Stardew Valley development will look like over the next few months.
Here are the patch notes for Stardew Valley 1.06, via Steam:
- Added unique dialogues for all spouses.
- Spouses now leave the house on mondays.
- Value of most animal products increased.
- Holly is now poisonous.
- Missing events problem shouldn't happen anymore.
