Just in time for the Steam Autumn Sale, Steam just announced their own awards show. Starting December, players can nominate their favorite games in some of the craziest categories straight out of the brains of Valve employees. Nominating games is simple; just go to the game’s page on the Steam store or in your library, then click “nominate this game for an award.”
The categories for the Steam awards are:
- The “Test of Time” Award
- The “I’m Not Crying, There’s Something In My Eye” Award
- The “Just 5 More Minutes” Award
- The “Whoooaaaaaaa, dude!” Award
- The “Villain Most In Need Of A Hug” Award
- The “Game Within A Game” Award
- The “I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award” Award
- The “Best Use Of A Farm Animal” Award
- The “We Didn’t Think Of Everything” Award
“We Didn’t Think Of Everything” is exactly what it sounds like, players can nominate any game for this category and Steam will decide what to do with them.
You can complete certain tasks to earn a badge for your Steam account. Each badge earns you 25 XP, with four in total. Here are the tasks you need to complete to get all four badges:
Nominate at least 1 game
Nominate a game in each category
Play a game you've nominated
Review (or update your review) for a game you've nominated
The Steam Autumn Sale takes place from Nov. 23 to Nov. 29.
