Ubisoft released a new trailer for Steep, the publisher’s upcoming open-world winter sports game, this week. The new trailer offers a breakdown of what to expect from Steep when the game hits stores next month and the kind of post-launch support we can expect. And it sounds like Ubisoft has some big plans for its latest foray into the world of extreme sports.
For those who aren’t familiar, Steep is an open-world game, set in the Alps, that lets players glide, parachute, ski or snowboard pretty much anywhere in the game. Steep lets players participate in developer-designed races, and other events, or make their lines down one of the most beautiful and iconic mountain ranges in the world. You can even unlock the ability to access special portions of the map via helicopter or hot air balloon. And what would a winter sports game be without the ability to record and share your own amazing stunt videos?
In addition to the game breakdown, this week’s Steep trailer also includes the first details on the game’s post-launch content. Ubisoft apparently has many long-term plans for Steep, including the addition of a new Alaskan mountain, and the publisher says it will continue to make new events available to the Steep community in the months after launch.
Update: Here are Ubisoft's descriptions of the three DLC packs covered by the Steep season pass:
- Winter Fest Pack introduces the winter sled and puts players’ skills to the test with its new array of challenges. It will also offers fun new exclusive costumes.
- Extreme Pack adds three new exhilarating sports: rocket wings, base jumping and speed gliding. New exclusive costumes will also be part of the Extreme Pack.
- Adrenaline Pack includes the Moonlight Pack, featuring 3 unique night-time challenges and equipment packs for players to show off their style while shining in the dark, along with new costumes, new outfits, new boards and wingsuits.
Buying the season pass will also entitle the player to several exclusive costumes, including a "very fetching snowman", extra helicopter tickets and 10,000 Steep credits.
