New images from Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 2 set have arrived. No sightings of the Demogorgon, but we’ll take what we can get.
The photos reveal the show is filming at an arcade somewhere in Atlanta, Ga. Another interesting shot is of a new character named “Max,” played by actress Sadie Sink. Apparently she’s “angry” in the photo, but it looks like she was caught off guard more than anything else.
Unfortunately, Cast members Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp were not spotted on the set. Still, fans can expect a lot of 80s references they loved in the first season.
We’d like to see the kids explore more of the Upside Down, especially with Will seemingly having a connection to the place. In the last trailer for Stranger Things Season 2, we saw Will being tested for something. We hope to see Eleven help the kids fight the Demogorgon once again.
As for what to expect in the show, Stranger Things producer and director Shawn Levy teased during an interview with Southern California Public Radio back in November that the pressure was on in the writing room. He wants to make sure there will be “next level, some crazy stuff” in the show’s second season.
“Yes, the pressure is on. It would be so blatantly disingenuous of me to say differently,” Levy said. “It’s scary to have people love something this much. It becomes impossible to banish all thoughts of not wanting to disappoint. This has been the challenge of it: on the one hand as we’ve see in the movie world, to do a follow-up that feels like the same thing is disappointing to an audience; to abandon things or change things, that disappoints the audience.”
Stranger Things Season 2 premieres Oct. 31 on Netflix.
