Gears of War 4 releases on Oct. 11 for Xbox One and PC (through Windows 10). If you want to start tearing away at enemies as soon as possible, here’s when you can start downloading and playing Gears of War 4.
If you’ve pre-ordered Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition, what are you doing? You could have started playing a few days ago! Get in on that right now. For everyone else, the unlock time will be at 12 a.m. EDT on Oct. 11. This means those on the West Coast will be able to start gaming as early as 9 p.m. Lucky you.
If you do get the digital version, you’ll probably have to clear out some hard drive space. The Xbox One download is a pretty sizable 54.65GB and the PC download comes in at a whopping 80GB.

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out our Gears of War 4 review. While the game is an excellent Gears of War game, we felt it did suffer from being too similar to what we’ve already played. If you are a Gears of War fan, you’ll still find plenty to love, and Horde mode just keeps getting better and better.
