Sony has not secured a PlayStation VR release date despite GameStop CEO Paul Raines' claims the company won’t launch its headset until fall. Raines told Fox News the company expected to the PlayStation VR to ship later than the first half of the year.
"We are right now preparing for the launches of the major VR products," Raines told Fox News . "We're in discussions with Oculus, HTC, and Sony. It's a big launch, we're getting ready for it. We will launch the Sony product this fall and we are in discussions with the other two players."
Sony issued a statement to Game Informer to provide clarification on Raines comment. Sony stated, “GameStop was speculating, and we have not released any further details on launch timing.” Learn more about Raines’ predictions for VR headsets here .
