On Monday, Apple dropped the first beta of the upcoming iOS 9.3 and with it a preview of what’s ahead in the software. Looking over the details of what Apple has planned for iOS 9.3, one of the more significant updates we’ll see this cycle is a new range of new teacher tools that include the ability to have multi-user logins for iPads. In addition, Apple is beefing up the Health app, adding password locks to some apps and introducing an eye-friendly night mode and more. Check out all the upcoming features of iOS 9.3 below.

New Educator Tools – it looks as though Apple aims to throw a ton of new tools into iOS 9.3 for educators to use with students, including the ability to cast information to devices and check in on how students’ work is going on individual iPads. There also appears to be the option to have multiple users on the same iPad who can log in under different names for a personalized experience.

Night Shift’ Night Mode – Apple is finally going to make your device friendlier for night use, modifying the colors of the screen to warmer less eye-straining hues as the evening arrives, thereby helping you avoid bluelight related sleep issues.

Fingerprint Lock For Notes App – in the iOS 9.3 preview, Apple shows the ability to “lock” the Notes app with a fingerprint or password. Clearly the company realizes we all keep an awful lot of sensitive data in there. Making it possible to secure some of those sensitive notes will be a welcome addition.

Health Dashboard Update – The health dashboard app is getting an update in iOS 9.3 that adds sliders to categories like weight, workout or sleep that provide suggestions for apps that may help you reach your goals in these areas. It also integrates your move, exercise and stand data from the Apple watch to simplify your health data tracking to one app.

News App Update – Apple is working to personalize the News app further in iOS 9.3 by adding better-tailored article suggestions in the “For You” section. There will also reportedly be improvements to story and feed loading speeds.

CarPlay Update – CarPlay is scheduled to get some additional features in iOS 9.3 as well, including New and For You sections from Apple Music. It also will add a Nearby feature which allows you to find gas stations, restaurants, parking and more available near you.
