There was more of Jared Leto’s Joker in DC’s Suicide Squad movie, but you probably won’t ever see it. Soon after the harsh reviews for the film were released, an interview with Leto from the French publication Telestar (via Heroic Hollywood ) began making the rounds. In the interview, Leto admits there were scenes that he expected to be in the film that were left on the cutting room floor.
“There are a lot of scenes that didn’t make it to the final film, hopefully they will see the light of day. Who knows,” Leto said.
It’s hard to say whether more Joker would’ve satisfied critics who are out for blood whenever Warner Bros Studios releases a DC movie, but The Hollywood Reporter recently claimed inside sources are blaming the studio for rushing the production and putting out the film way too early.
“Though the studio believed there was enough time to get the movie done, a source with ties to the project says it was a sprint from the start,” THR reports. “‘[Ayer] wrote the script in like, six weeks, and they just went,’ he says, arguing that the whole process would have benefited if Ayer had been given more time to work.”
The bad reviews won’t stop us from seeing Suicide Squad, even if it’s just out of pure curiousity. Will you be checking out Suicide Squad this weekend? Let us know in the comments section below.
