You’ve finished the main story of Super Mario Odyssey and there are a ton of Power Moons to find and collectibles to buy. But is that all there is to the Nintendo Switch title?
There’s actually a secret level that will add more hours of gameplay. But to get to it, players will have to collect a lot of Power Moons and do a bit of digging.
SPOILER ALERT! We recommend you going out and explore each Kingdom to figure out the secrets of Odyssey’s post-game but if you want to get right to it, proceed.
Those who played through the main story of Odyssey know that Bowser’s wedding is up on the Moon Kingdom. This is also the home of the Broodals, the hopping Rabbit bosses that also act as Bowser’s wedding planners. Their base of operations is somewhere in the Moon Kingdom, and we’ve got the details on everything you need to know about the Dark Side.
HOW TO ACCESS THE DARK SIDE
First and foremost, players will need to collect at least 250 Power Moons. You can check how many Power Moons you have at the Odyssey. Once you’ve collected 250 Moons, head to the Moon Kingdom and find a large rock structure that looks like a carrot. Players will have to jump, and capture the spark pylon nearby the rock structure to actually access the Broodals base.
Once you do, you’ll be met by each of the Broodals in a boss battle as you make your way up the tower. There are more Power Moons to collect in the Dark Side, and even a Captain Toad sighting, so be sure to explore the compound before making your way out of the tower.
DARKER SIDE
There’s more to the Odyssey post-game than just the Dark Side, there’s a Darker Side: a place called Culmina Crater. By collecting 500 Power Moons, you’ll be able to travel using the Odyssey to the Darker Side of the Moon Kingdom. In this area, you’ll be able to explore a more difficult level where you have to get to the top of a large skyscraper.
