Super Mario Run costs $9.99 to play the full game’s full suite of six worlds, but, because the payment is done through an in-app purchase, the benefits can be easily shared across multiple iOS devices. This is great for playing the complete game with friends and family. Here’s how it’s done.
- Download Super Mario Run for iOS. [here]
- When you first launch it, you’ll be asked to link the game to your Nintendo ID. Create one in the app, if you have to, and get everything linked. If you’ve already downloaded it and declined the initial link request, you can set that up in the game’s Settings menu.
- Make your in-app purchase when prompted. Take note of the Apple ID you used to do this. It must be the same one you downloaded the game with.
- On the device you want to share with, close Super Mario Run from multitasking. This is done by double tapping the home button and swiping the app’s tile upward. If it’s not installed yet, skip to step five and do the sign in process. Then, sign in with the created Nintendo ID on the second device when everything is downloaded.
- Now go to your iOS Settings app and select “iTunes & App Store.” Sign out of any account that may be signed in and log in with the Apple ID you purchased the full game with in step three.
- Progress through World Tour until you encounter the purchase screen.
- This may seem strange, but repeat the purchase process. You will not be charged twice.
- When asked if you’d like to purchase the full game again for free, press yes. Ignore any error messages that may come up.
- Close from multitasking again. When you reopen, you’ll have all the levels and bonuses that come with the purchase.
- Optionally, you can sign out of the purchase Apple ID and keep playing as normal. When you get the message to sign back in upon boot, just hit “dismiss.”
- NOTE: If you sign in with another Apple ID when this is all done, you’ll get an “only paid purchases can be claimed with an original account” error.
This method works because of how Apple handles in-app purchases on iOS. The source user’s account can never pay for the same thing twice unless it’s a form of in-game currency. If, by chance, you are charged twice, you are eligible for a full refund. Now, all of your friends can blast through Super Mario Run without having to make individual purchases.
