Superman is coming to DC TV! Greg Berlanti has done it again. This time, he’s bringing in the big guns to set Supergirl up with a much-needed fresh start for its new Monday slot on The CW.

Warner Bros. has announced Superman will visit his cousin, Kara Danvers, in National City in the first two episodes of Season 2. The CW hasn’t revealed whose face will be behind the shadow we first saw in Supergirl’s pilot episode.

"Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said.

Kara has kept in contact with Clark all season via outdated AIM-like message correspondence and Jimmy Olsen, one of Superman’s only trusted confidants. We’ve already met Kal-El as a young boy (played by Daniel DiMaggio) during Kara’s flashbacks on Krypton, but come fall we’ll officially meet the grown man behind the red cape. We may not know the actor, but one thing is for sure, Clark Kent could give Supergirl the spark it needs to win over The Flash and Arrow fans on the CW after a mediocre first season on CBS.

If Superman is a part of the highly anticipated 4-episode crossover (with The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow) that would certainly be a sight to behold. We also have yet to find out what, or who, is in that Kryptonian pod that miraculously landed in National City in the finale episode. How will Kara react when she meets her long-lost cousin?
