Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book tablet deals were a hot topic for Cyber Monday and Black Friday, but the popularity of these PCs will likely carry throughout the holiday season. In the never-ending search to find the best deals for our readers, we noticed that Amazon is still offering some pretty sweet savings. Compared to the MSRP at Microsoft, Target and Best Buy, here are a few differences we noticed.
Nearly all of Amazon’s Surface Pro 4 catalog is on sale
- Surface Pro 4 128 GB Storage/4 GB RAM/i5 CPU: $782 (MSRP $999) [ Link]
- Surface Pro 4 256 GB Storage/8 GB RAM/i5 CPU: $1,048 (MSRP $1,299) [ Link]
- Surface Pro 4 128 GB Storage/4 GB RAM/m3 CPU: $714 (MSRP $899) [ Link]
- Surface Pro 4 256 GB Storage/16 GB RAM/i7 CPU: $1,648 (MSRP $1,799) [ Link]
- Surface Pro 4 512 GB Storage/16 GB RAM/i7 CPU: $1,894 (MSRP $2,199) [ Link]
As with any deal, there’s always a downside. The main one in this case is that the configurations listed above are the so-called “old version” of the sku. From what we can see, however, the only difference between the old and updated variations is that the newer builds come with the latest Windows 10 Anniversary Update installed. Amazon and others have those versions for sale at standard price, but it’s worth noting that the update can be installed on any Surface Pro 4 for fee as soon as you unbox the tablet.
Because Amazon is one of the only stores that we’ve seen still selling these barely after-market configurations, those looking for a great deal can benefit the most here. Amazon has had quite a few similar sales before, so this post-Cyber Monday one isn’t much of a surprise. In fact, the same is true for Microsoft’s Surface Book too.
- Surface Book 512 GB Storage/16 GB RAM/i7 CPU [GPU]: $2,170 (MSRP $2,699) [ Link]
- Surface Book 256 GB Storage/8 GB RAM/i5 CPU [GPU]: $1,699 (MSRP $1,899) [ Link]
- Surface Book 128 GB Storage/8 GB RAM/i5 CPU: $1,214 (MSRP $1,499) [ Link]
Similar to the Surface Pro 4, these marked-down versions don’t come with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update pre-installed. Still, both options are a great way to save during the holidays. In most cases, the competitors simply don’t offer it.
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that the Surface Pro 5 is expected to launch early next year, but, if you can’t afford to wait, these savings are solid compared to Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
