Teamfight Tactics released patch 9.19, which adds new character Kai'Sa to the game. In addition, new items like the Sparring Glove are also going to be introduced to the game.
The new champion Kai'Sa comes from the Void and belongs to the Ranger and Assassin Class. Her ability is known as Killer Instinct. With this ability, Kai'Sa makes a dash to the furthest enemy unit while gaining (30%/60%/90%) attack speed for three seconds and shielding herself for (300/600/900). Additional information of this new champion include:
- Cost: 5
- Health: 700
- Armor: 20
- Attack Damage: 55
- Attack Speed: 1.25
- Starting/Total Mana: 50/125
New Items
As mentioned, the patch introduces Sparring Gloves, which gives +10% Critical Strike chance along with a +10% chance to Dodge chance. When building an item from Sparring Gloves, the items converts the core stats to either offensive (20% Critical Strike chance) or defensive (20% Dodge chance).
An example of offensive stat is Infinity Edge which results from combining Sparring Gloves with the B.F. Sword. With the offensive option, it has the effect of dealing +150% Critical Strike damage. There are two items that get both the stats:
- Thief's Glove:
- Recipe: Sparring Gloves + Sparring Gloves
- Effect: This item takes all three item slots. On round begin, copy two random items.
- Mittens
- Recipe: Sparring Gloves + Spatula
- Effect: This champ also counts as a Yordle
Traits
Changes were made to the traits and one of these changes was focused on Void. According to the team, with the introduction of Kai'Sa, it became necessary to lower the power of early Void. However, it was just as important to give the Void more build options and thus serve as a reward to those who are fully committed to it. Changes include:
- (2) One random void champion deals true damage this combat
- (4) All your void champions deal true damage this combat
Hero Changes
Finally we look into the some of the champion changes that came with the patch.
Anivia has been buffed a bit since it was found out that she has been underperforming for a 5-cost champion. Her health has been increased to 750 with attack speed now 0.8. Mana has been increased as well with starting mana now at 50 and total mana at 125. Additionally, her Ability Targeting is no longer random. It instead directs to the furthest target.
On the other side of the coin, Kassadin has been balanced as well. As a DPS champion, he had become problematic since he could gain shield while also draining mana. With the patch, Kassadin's damage has been reduced. His attack damage is now 40 with attack speed lowered as well to 0.55. However, his armor was increased to 35. Mana Steal and Shield Power was also increased to 25/50/75.
