With Tokyo Game Show 2019 now in full swing, we’re starting to see some of the first announcements, news and trailers drop from Japanese developers and publishers with regards to some of the most highly-anticipated titles. From September 12 to September 15, the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Tokyo is the center of amazing new stuff for all your favorite games, upcoming and otherwise, so be sure to check in with us the rest of this week as well as early next week for coverage of Tokyo Game Show 2019.
One of the perceived highlights for this year’s Tokyo Game Show is Hideo Kojima, his studio Kojima Productions, and his latest title, Death Stranding, which is due out for the PS4 on November 8. The game has been on quite the promotional tour, with its first gameplay footage being shown ahead of E3 (as Sony opted out of the event for the first time), character trailers for Mama and Deadman dropping during Gamescom and of course, an infamous leak of the ‘Briefing’ trailer which was shown to the press behind closed doors during the game event.
For this year’s TGS, Kojima has now officially released the ‘Briefing’ trailer, which is available to view in 4K for a closer look at some of the video's finer details. Kojima also showed a brand-new piece of artwork for Death Stranding, and you can view both it and the trailer below.
One look at the artwork and you can easily tell that it’s inspired by Star Wars posters, only this time it stars Death Stranding’s weird cast of characters. While we’ve got a pretty good idea of almost everyone involved with Sam Porter Bridges, played by Norman Reedus, one character yet to be showcased is that of Mads Mikkelsen, who plays the mysterious Cliff, implied to be one of the game’s main antagonists.
Death Stranding will be released for the PlayStation 4 on November 8.
