There is no lingering doubt that last year in the indie game space, House House’s Untitled Goose Game was one of the best and most memorable. The minimalistic game lets you experience the life of a horrible troublemaking goose as it sets out to bring untold chaos to a small town and its inhabitants – albeit in a cute and endearing way. Untitled Goose Game first released for the both the Nintendo Switch and PC via the Epic Games Store on September 20, 2019, followed by PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions on December 17 of the same year.
The game’s release was critically acclaimed, with Untitled Goose Game even getting a spot in last year’s The Game Awards. That said, if there is one thing severely lacking in the game, it’s the ability to bring unbridled chaos on unsuspecting town people with a friend, a problem which developer House House will solve with the game’s next major update. Check out a brand-new trailer showcasing some of the multiplayer moments of Untitled Goose Game below.
Come September 23, Untitled Goose Game will receive a two-player local co-op mode which will allow players to enjoy the mayhem as “two horrible geese, with a new horrible honk, teaming up to plan some horrible pranks, and generally being horrible to everyone together.” This should provide another layer of depth to what is already the perfect indie game, by sharing your experience of bringing torment via throwing rakes in the lake.
In addition to the major update, which was first announced on Nintendo’s Indie World showcase, Untitled Goose Game will also be finally releasing on PC via Steam and itch.io. This should come as a welcome surprise to PC players who prefer the storefronts as opposed to the Epic Games Store. If you’re also a big fan of physical media for your video games, physical editions of Untitled Goose Game will be releasing for both the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on September 29.
Untitled Goose Game is now available to play on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via the Epic Games Store.
