No more walker herds for The Walking Dead Season 6! Director and Special Effects Makeup Designer Greg Nicotero confirmed that the big threats in the second season will be mostly human during an interview Melty .

There was a two-month time jump from episode 609 and 610 that dealt with the walker herd. In episode 609, we saw Rick, Michonne, Carl, Jessie and her sons try to escape the walker herd in the “meat ponchos.” Daryl, Abraham, and Sasha eventually saved the day with the gasoline and an RPG. The rest of Season 6 will focus on specific threat - NEGAN - and there will be a lot less walker action.

"It does allow us to catch our breath now and look at the potential other threats that are out there," Nicotero told Melty . "We spent a lot of time this season showing how big the world was. In the first episode, I used a lot of aerial shots to show the quarry and to show, like, it’s not just a bunch of people running around in the woods - you can see a lot of the landscape from the sky. So visually we are showing that the world is big and that there’s threats out there. And now in the second half of the season, those threats are going to become more focused."

It’ll be nice for the walker-action to take the backseat as fans prepare for Negan’s arrival. Does anyone else have a bad feeling when it comes to Daryl? Do you think The Walking Dead has the guts to kill off Daryl? Watch the teaser for The Walking Dead Season 6 episode 12 in the video below.
