Jeffrey Dean Morgan made a joke about Negan’s Lucille victim and, of course, the internet has taken it seriously. Director Kevin Smith hosted a show for IMDB during San Diego Comic-Con 2016 that included four of The Walking Dead Season 7 cast members.

Smith asked Morgan, along with Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Steven Yeun (Glenn Rhee) and Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon), about the big death scene teased during The Walking Dead panel. The actors threw Morgan under the bus by asking him to reveal who Negan killed.

Morgan joked that his character didn’t kill anyone on stage with him at the moment. Morgan’s comments shouldn’t be taken seriously, as we know there’s a good chance at least one of the actors he shared the IMDB stage with could be a goner. Check out the video below to see Morgan’s reaction to Smith’s question.

The good news is The Walking Dead fans will get to see a lot of Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Executive Producer Greg Nicotero recently teased to Entertainment Weekly that any “nice guy” Negan moments will be few and far between. Negan is an asshole and isn’t afraid to show it.

“Negan is that kind of guy,” Nicotero told EW . “He’s the kind of guy who imagines himself on stage at a high school production and he loves every second of it. So, I don’t really see a lot of quiet contemplative moments with Negan. I feel like with Negan it’s really going to be about him gesticulating and him sort of relishing in the sound of his own voice while he commands the stage in front of whoever’s alive.”

The Walking Dead Season 7 returns to AMC this October.
