We’re concerned for Daryl Dixon’s fate in The Walking Dead Season 7 for several reasons. The most obvious is Negan; he’s going to be furious his men let Daryl escape their compound. Daryl isn’t a comic book character, so there are a few ways his story can go.
No, we don’t believe Daryl is protected by plot armor anymore. Here’s what might happen to your favorite Dixon brother.
Walker Daryl
Remember in The Walking Dead comics when Negan brought Holly back to Alexandria? Long story short, Holly was kidnapped by the Saviors and saved by Negan. Until she wasn’t. Negan caught one of his men attempting to sexually assault Holly, so he killed him. Holly was left speechless. Next time we see Holly, her head is covered and Negan is holding on to her. Holly walks over to Dr. Denise and bites her.
Yeah, Negan killed Holly and let her turn. Chaos ensues and more people die. It would be a pretty cool death for Daryl since Holly no longer exists on the show.
Daryl’s Sacrifice
Daryl feels incredibly guilty about Glenn’s death. He knows he couldn’t really have prevented Abraham’s death, but Negan warned them about outbursts. Had Daryl kept calm, Glenn might still be alive. We wouldn’t be surprised if Daryl returns to Negan’s compound by himself to weaken the Saviors. Daryl would be willing to sacrifice himself for a suicide mission. It’s definitely a possibility; Daryl would do anything to make things right with Maggie.
Dwight, The Traitor
We believe it was Sherry who let Daryl escape, but Dwight might want to stay on Negan’s good side to protect her. Dwight might find Daryl and bring him back to the compound, and a walker Daryl situation might unfold. Or Dwight might become a double agent and use Daryl to lead Negan into a trap. Either way, Dwight hates Negan and would probably jump at the opportunity to kill him.
