Gaijin Entertainment recently launched the first major content patch for War Thunder this year. The Sky Guardians update features new vehicles that players can enjoy, including the Yak-141 and Japanese Type 16.
The USSR’s Yak-141 is a multipurpose VTOL jet fighter with impressive speed and excellent air-to-air and ground attack capabilities. This thing possesses an excellent climb rate. With the right conditions, it can break the sonic barrier very quickly with a maximum speed of 1,800 km/h at minimal payloads! It is also equipped with the R-27 family of medium-range missiles with various modifications, such as the radar-guided R-27R, thermal R-27T, and R-27ER; the latter is considered one of the best in the game.
Players who want a reliable ground vehicle that can destroy tanks with ease can turn to the new Japanese Type 16 (FPS). This wheeled tank destroyer is pretty fast with speeds topping at 100 km/h. Furthermore, it is armed with a 105 mm gun using High-Explosive Anti-Tank Fin Stabilized (HEATFS) and High-Explosive Squash Head (HESH) rounds to ensure that enemy ground vehicles won’t be a problem. If things get tough, the Type 16 (FPS) is equipped with smoke grenade launchers that can provide enough cover during escape.
