In Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 episode 22, Arizona and Callie will go to trial for sole custody of the daugher Sophia. An episode 22 sneak peek shows the two mothers and their lawyers battling over the phone to reach a settlement and avoid going to trial, but neither is willing to concede to a joint custody compromise.
It appears that Arizona may lose custody of Sophia, as another episode 22 sneak peek shows her leaving in the middle of her own testimony to attend to a patient. She and April are caring for a pregnant teen who is experiencing a medical emergency. Arizona tells the judge that no matter who gets custody of Sophia, she will be alive and well and cared for, but her patient’s life currently hangs in the balance.
Callie seems to have some sympathy for Arizona’s situation. But the judge is expected to make a ruling on who will be appointed as Sophia’s permanent caregiver.
