Well, whaddaya know - Weezer have seemingly come out of nowhere and announced the release of a new self-titled album, otherwise known as The White Album. The band’s fourth self-titled album and tenth overall isn’t exactly a total surprise, per se, as Weezer released two new tracks (“Thank God for Girls”, “Do You Wanna Get High?”) at the end of 2015. On top of the big announcement, Weezer also dropped a new music video for a fun song titled “King of the World.”
Back in November, frontman Rivers Cuomo confirmed that Weezer’s record contract had run out. In the wake of said news, the band has decided to self-release The White Album, which will be made available on April 1 (hopefully this isn’t an awful April Fool’s joke!). In addition to the new LP’s reveal, Weezer has also posted the tracklist, cover art and tour dates for The White Album. Hitting its stride this summer, the Weezer tour will also feature Panic! at the Disco and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. To top it off, Weezer will perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Take a look at all the White Album details below:
