Jonathan Blow revealed, in a posting on the PlayStation Blog, the voice cast of his next game: The Witness. There are apparently only four cast members, and oddly enough, no soundtrack.
The voice actors are Ashley Johnson, Phil LaMarr, Matthew Waterson and Terra Deva. Johnson is currently the voice acting hotshot, having just come from high-profile roles such as Ellie in The Last of Us, Jenny from inFamous: First Light, and Gortys from Tales from the Borderlands. LaMarr has been in many video games, but his biggest roles are most likely being Hermes Conrad in Futurama and Marvin from Pulp Fiction.
Waterson starred in two of the biggest games of 2015, providing the voice of Virgil in Fallout 4 and Captain Wallace in Halo 5: Guardians. Deva is a singer, who - believe it or not - was a Mouseketeer.
Outside of introducing the cast, Blow also dropped another very interesting bit of information about The Witness. Apparently, there isn't going to be any music in the game. Blow also mentioned that the story is going to be something you'll have to actively figure out.
"I will warn you, though, that the story in The Witness, such as it is, is fairly subtle and happens mostly implicitly," Blow wrote on the PlayStation Blog.
"You really have to explore and read between the lines to know what’s going on. So do not expect a traditional game story like The Last of Us or The Order! All that said, we are very happy to have these actors lending their talents to our game, and I look forward to release when you’ll see what we’ve been up to."
The Witness will be releasing on both PS4 and PC on Jan. 26.
