Wolfenstein 2 was NOT at Bethesda’s E3 showcase this year… Or was it? A small clue could have been left on screen for those eagle-eyed enough to catch it, hinting at a new Wolfenstein game called New Colossus.
As spotted by gamesTM on Twitter, a listing of games appeared before the Quake Champions announcement, acting as a loading screen to kick off the show. The games listed were previous id Software games, with release dates next to them. Wolfenstein: The New Order was mentioned, with Wolfenstein: The Old Blood listed right after. While not developed by id, you get the idea here.
The game listed under The Old Blood is something we haven’t heard of though. The listing reads New Colossus and instead of a release date, there are several blank boxes. Obviously, whatever New Colossus is, it’s some kind of game coming from either id or MachineGames, the company that developed the rebooted Wolfenstein series.
If this wasn’t enough evidence to get you on the hype train, we also have pretty substantial evidence that Alicja Bachleda-Curus, the voice actress for Anya in The New Order, has basically revealed the game. When asked if Bachleda-Curus had any future work ahead of her, she mentioned she was working on the second part of a computer game that she’s already done the first part for. Gee, what could that be?
While nothing is set in stone until Bethesda announces it, don’t be too surprised to see a Wolfenstein: The New Colossus announcement coming in the near future.
So what do you think? Does this clue confirm a new Wolfenstein game? Do you think New Colossus could be for something different? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
