It's a celebration.
It's a celebration. Blizzard

World of Warcraft is celebrating its 16th birthday this month. If the game was a person, it would be allowed to drive, in some states at least. With that in mind, Blizzard is offering players an Anniversary Gift Package to help celebrate the occasion. To get this gift, players simply need to log in to World of Warcraft between November 1 and November 22.

So what’s inside this gift? There are 200 Timewarped Badges. It also comes with a Celebration Package item, which can increase experience and reputation gained by 16%, but only for one hour. Players also get a “Letter from the Timewalkers,” which starts a new quest that can lead to either Stormwind or Orgrimmar.

That’s not all as Historian Llore and Historian Ju’pa are going to give players two daily quests which allow them to have a chance to earn extra Timewarped Badges. The badges can be earned by either answering WoW trivia or defeating some familiar foes. Doing the latter also gives collectors the chance to pick up some class loot.

It’s not all gifts though, as the celebration is set to bring back some more nostalgia, especially for the older players. There’s going to be some familiar enemies that are returning to Azeroth, though they arrive with rather updated abilities. Players who are at least level 30 can take on Lord Kazzak and even Azuregos. These players can even fight one of the four Dragons of Nightmare. In return, players get some loot and 50 Timewarped Badges.

Players can also experience Korrak’s Revenge, which is a throwback Battleground that’s inspired by the earliest days of Alterac Valley. Those who take part in Korrak’s Revenge and manage to complete the Alterac Valley of Olde achievement get to earn two new mounts. These are the Stormpike Battle Ram (Alliance) and the Frostwolf Snarler (Horde).

World of Warcraft is also making a lot of great items available for purchase. Players can use badges in order to get new items. Finally, players call on their friends and join the celebration in the Caverns of Time.

World of Warcraft was released in November 23, 2004. The date itself is significant since it also marked the 10th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise. Since its launch, World of Warcraft has released seven major expansions. An eighth expansion, Shadowlands, was originally set to be released in October 27, but was delayed with Blizzard citing the need to polish the game further. You can read more on that here. It has since been revealed that Shadowlands is going to be released in time for WoW's 16th birthday.

So what are you waiting for? Time to join the celebration.
