The Xbox One S release date has been confirmed by Major Nelson as August 2. You can pre-order the $399 Xbox One S console now if you're worried about not being able to get one on launch day. The upgraded console, which was announced at E3, is 40 percent smaller than the original, has a built-in power supply, 2 TB hard drive and 4K Ultra HD.
The Xbox One S comes with a new controller that has textured grips, improved signal and Bluetooth and costs $59.99. There are also 1 TB and 500 GB options for $349 and $299 respectively but release dates for these editions haven’t been announced yet.
