Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links has rolled out its latest big update and it includes a trip to Duelist Kingdom, the location of the first season of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime. Not only will Duel Links players go through the story of Duelist Kingdom, but there are chances for new card rewards and to unlock a new duelist.

This new duelist is Yugi Muto (not to be confused with Yami Yugi), who will give duelists a chance at other card rewards and new abilities.

There’s a ton of information regarding the Duelist Kingdom event in Duel Links, including how to unlock Yugi Muto and get the most out of the reward opportunities.

BASICS

The Duel Kingdom event, transports duelists to a game board where they move using dice rolls. Duelists win dice by defeating other duelists (both normal, Vagabond and Legendary duelists). If you lose a duel, you’ll only earn two dice, but you’ll earn four if you win.

On the game board, duelists roll a three-sided dice by relinquishing seven dice. This dice will only allow players to move one to three spaces at one time. There are spots on the board that you can’t pass; you will stop there no matter what you roll. These spots are duels based on the anime, like Yugi’s duels with Weevil and Mai, to name a couple.

There are also special spaces for story moments as well as obtaining Support Items. Support Items allow you to dictate how many spaces you move, from one to three spaces. These are great for saving your dice and also strategically placing yourself for more Support Items or Millennium Coins.

Millennium Coins are currency you can win by landing on the special coin space or by fulfilling certain requirements in a duel, like choosing a certain character or summoning a specific monster. These coins are used to play the Card Lottery.

CARD LOTTERY

The Card Lottery is exactly that, a place to spend your Millennium Coins for the chance to obtain rare cards, keys and gems. You have the option of drawing one card for 30 coins or two cards for 60. Here’s a list of all the cards that can be obtained in the Card Lottery.

UNLOCKING YUGI

It’s rather easy to unlock Yugi Muto in Duel Links. Duelists will simply have to make their way through the first map (or as Duel Links calls them, zones). Completing each zone unlocks a new reward once you make it through. Also, a new round will unlock once you complete the Forest, Ocean, Labyrinth, Pegasus Castle and Final Duel zones.

To unlock Yugi Muto, you’ll just have to make it through all of Round 1, which shouldn’t take a lot of time if you put in the effort to collect as many dice as possible.
