Developer Corecell Technology has just announced that it will soon be releasing two titles for the PC, namely their action-adventure RPGs AeternoBlade and AeternoBladeII: Director's Rewind. The pair will be launched on PC via Steam on September 8.
For those who are not familiar with the two, AeternoBlade is a hack-and-slash game that was originally released in 2014 for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS, and PS Vita. It follows a story based in the Alwesia region, which is a cruel continent where humans must fight and struggle in order to survive. Also on this continent is Beladim, Lord of the Mist and Commander of the Army of Darkness. Said to be unkillable, this evil immortal being and his army have razed the land and destroyed everything he set his foot upon. This is where Freyja, a girl whose village of Ridgerode has been destroyed by Beladim, will now journey forward in a quest for vengeance and redemption. During her journey, she will be equipped with the titular Aeternoblade. She will also receive assistance from several characters such as Vernia the mysterious witch.
AeternoBlade's gameplay follows that of a 2.5D side-scroller and platformer. Players use the Aeternoblade as their main source of damage, but it also has a secret up its sleeve. The blade allows players to control time using two skills, namely Time Travel and Time Warp. Time Travel moves everything back except for Freyja, and Time Warp works in the opposite way, where players can set a marker at Freyja's current position which she can teleport back to. As for combat upgrades, collecting orbs allows for stat upgrades such as HP and attack boosts, and can also help in unlocking more moves and combos for Freyja to use. AeternoBlade II also follows the same formula, but this time with improved combat mechanics, additional characters to swap to, and new powers such as Time Stop and Time Paradox, which can be used in several different ways.
AeternoBlade and AeternoBlade II: The Director's Cut will launch for the PC via Steam on September 8. Both games are currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
