An HD remastered version of the Nintendo 3DS role-playing game The Alliance Alive will be rolling out worldwide starting on October 8, 2019 in North America.
The story revolves around humanity’s struggle and defeat against the Daemons, creatures from another realm that invaded Earth because of an energy in the human realm called Chaos. With the world divided into separate zones under the supreme rule of Daemons, a human resistance group called the Night Crows emerge from the hopelessness to restore control of the world. The nine main characters players control and interact with are members of this group. The gameplay mostly focuses on strategizing around each members’ strengths and weaknesses when engaged in combat. Through traversing the world and experience in combat, character skills and combat abilities are improved through the use of talent points and appropriate utilization of different weapon types.
Since its 3DS launch in March of last year, the Japanese RPG has received stellar reviews for riveting storytelling, immersive world building, and exceptional progression systems. Western fans of the original version will no doubt appreciate the graphical advances the Nintendo Switch offers, alongside the considerably improved gaming experience for The Alliance Alive. It is an arguable point that The Alliance Alive's only opportunity for improvement was its average graphics, which is more due to the fact that it was limited by hardware.
A trailer was released along with the announcement, showcasing the vast visual differences between the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Switch, which can be viewed below.
If you’re looking to get a copy, publisher NIS America is also offering pre-orders for a Limited Version of The Alliance Alive HD Remastered on their website. Pre-orders include a copy of the game, an art book, a collector’s box and the official soundtrack by Masashi Hamauzu.
The Alliance Alive HD Remastered will be released on PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch on October 8. It will be available in Europe and Oceania regions by October 11 and October 18, respectively. A PC release is still unconfirmed as of this writing.
