On Tuesday, FX announced American Horror Story Season 6 will premiere Sept. 14 at 10 p.m., according to The Hollywood Reporter .
Typically, American Horror Story premieres in early October, but the upcoming season of the horror anthology will now begin a solid month ahead of the usual schedule. This is unusual, considering we know little to nothing about the season, particularly its theme.
Recently, there has been speculation centering around an Antichrist theme , connecting to Season 1. The suggestion surfaced after the profile photos on several AHS social media pages were updated to images of a sign that is a cross between the number six and a question mark. However, the teaser reveals no concrete details about the season.
So far, we know the American Horror Story Season 6 cast includes, Cheyenne Jackson, Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, Denis O’Hare, Evan Peters, Leslie Jordan and Matt Bomer. There are many other actors who are speculated to appear, but not yet officially confirmed for the season.
Reports also suggest that American Horror Story Season 6 has already begun filming, and a hospital scene has recently been shot in Los Angeles. Executive Producer Ryan Murphy remains mum about Season 6, apart from dropping a few vague hints about a children trope for the season earlier in the year. The actors insist they know nothing about their characters, except Bassett, who revealed in March she might be playing an alcoholic.
WIth a launch date set, we expect American Horror Story Season 6 may be a lot further along than those involved would have us believe. Reports indicate Fox and FX intended to reveal details about the upcoming season June 13, but cancelled their Emmy For Your Consideration event following the Orlando shooting.
